ok i have mixed feelings about this book. lets talk about the missing quotations THAT ANNOYED ME SO DAMN MUCH. the pace was so slow because of that, yet each chapter was “written” 4 or 5 months later. it was kind of disappointing that we didnt get to see their acts each day. our perspective for them would’ve been so much different. all that aside, it was a decent book, definitely not one of my faves. hated the ending as well
This book got me straight up depressed 😩
I think I like the characters a lot more in the tv show than in the book, like I emphasise more with them. This gave me a lot of mixed feelings. Marianne’s story is even more heartbreaking to read about, how she sees herself and what she lets other do to her and make her feel. Even Connell. I did not like him, like at all.
A lot of stuff on this book made me uncomfortable which I think was the goal with this book, challenge you in a way.
