What Members Thought

oops i never actually wrote a review so here:
i didnt enjoy this book, and i know lots of people do and thats fine. but personally, i didnt.
i think the reason i didnt was down to the lack of plot, however sally rooney is very good at character based books.
about 100 pages in it all became quite repetitive with connell and mariannes relationship and i found myself not beung able to continue further.
also: the lack of speech marks stressed ke out

I really loved this book and these terribly flawed, realistic, normal people ...more

A coming of age read - one where you don't always root for the characters yet find comfort in their true normal-ness. I often lean into romanticization and enjoyed watching their relationship grow and change - like being an observer to old friends you knew would end up together. Though the plot wasn't extremely engaging or unique, you read this story for people and it inspired me to rewatch Love, Rosie! I can definitely see myself coming back to this book for a comfort read or a rainy day, but f
