”I started singing and I looked at him. And he looked at me. And you know what? For three minutes, I think we forgot we were performing for twenty-thousand people. I forgot his family was standing there. I forgot we were singers in a band. I just existed. For three minutes. Singing to the man I loved.”

I have conflicting feelings about this book. First of all, the writing is skilful, and the author clearly put a lot of effort with researching the music industry. Yet, it also left me feeling quite frustrated. Towards the end, the line between fiction and an attempt to create a fictional reality was clear, and you could clearly see that this was fiction. It didn't feel real at times. The plot twist, felt unnatural, fake even, as many artists prefer to keep their personal and past struggl ...more

I don’t quite know what to think of this book, it was good but I don’t think it’s my type of book, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I wasn’t a big fan of the writing style, I didn’t feel any sort of connection to the characters even if I liked some of them, and it was a bit anticlimactic for me. I think it wasn’t what I expected from it, which is whyI didn’t enjoy it as much.

if there's one thing that taylor jenkins reid does amazingly well, it's creating characters that feel so real you start wondering if they're actually real ppl.
this book kept me on the edge of my seat. i have to admit that i had a hard time adjusting to the narration style, but as soon as i got the hang of it, i knew immediately that it's going to be a five-star read. i adore how tjr dealt with the character arcs in this book, specifically how she handled the daisy-billy-camilla situation.

I still don’t know exactly what to write about this book. I read it in Portuguese which wasn’t the best option imo; the song titles and lyrics were translated (:/)
I really liked this one but I still prefer The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo, specially because of the main character (Daisy got on my nerve sometimes).
The writing style was SO good and I read it so fast mainly because of that.
I predicted the ‘plot twist’, it wasn’t surprising at all.
