i would have read this so much sooner if i knew how much i’d love it. i so wish evelyn was real but then i would have been 10x more heartbroken than i already am. i cried obviously. this story is so thought out and intricate it’s so weird that it’s not true. taylor jenkins reid has the power to write the story of a fictional woman’s life from start to finish and makes you forget multiple times while reading that it’s not real. also you read all the things that evelyn did in her life that weren’t

this book is AMAZING. at this point in time it is my favorite book i’ve ever read. which is saying a LOT. i’ve read so many books. the story is sooo beautiful, characters are amazing and detailed and the WRITING 😍 i loooove tjr’s reading, it’s just that amazing. overall absolutely beautiful book & i would recommend to anyone. i read this in about 2 days and i never got bored, the whole book is just so interesting and the love story in this is so so good 😭
          
        
      
   
  
              
            
I thought this book might’ve been overhyped, but it did not disappoint in the slightest. The complexity of who Evelyn Hugo is juxtaposed with the complexity of Monique (the writer) shows the difference of two women who go and get what they want in their own ways. Each character is gray - both in their morals and their identities. None of the characters are black and white, above morality, or unworthy of forgiveness.
