I think I’m out of breath. Words aren’t coming out of my mouth because nothing in this world can express how heart-breaking, inspiring and REAL this book is. I cried my heart out so many times when I was reading this book. I felt myself smiling whenever Evelyn did something that was just classic Evelyn Hugo. To say that this was an amazing book is an understatement. This book had this strange kind of an impact on me that I can’t really express. Evelyn is smart, strong, and a brave woman who deserved the world. The way she worked for every single thing (literally every single thing) is just unbelievable. One of the best things about this book was that it showed how ugly, and real the world was. Evelyn told me that the world does not give us anything, we TAKE what we want from the world. I mean, I seriously don’t know what to talk about that woman but the fact that she’s not a real person is just SOOO UNBELIEVABLEEE. I felt like I lived a hundred lives over the course of the book. Its portrayal of the LGBTQIA+ community, the Hollywood industry, the scams, the lies, the different husbands, and the PLOT TWIST is just *chef’s kiss*. And the side characters; Celia, Harry, Connor, Monique were so amazingly written that it was just impossible to not love them.

This book was literally a rollercoaster of emotions. I couldn’t, I just couldn’t put down this book. EVELYN HUGO, HOW DARE YOUU FOR MAKING FEEL THIS WAY?!

This fast-paced and layered story of Hollywood fame, wealth, and scandal includes bits of romance, betrayal, regret, self-exploration, and so much more. While the story spans across the entirety of Evelyn Hugo’s legacy of seven failed marriages and the stories in between, the structure of the dialogue and journalism excerpts really help to speed up what could have been a slow burn story. Umm... what in the world is this beautifully written masterpiece?-

I loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. It was worth the hype, you guys😌. The emotions I went through while reading this book are out of this world. This book was so... raw. And real. I loved how Monique was somehow involved in Evelyn's story. Absolutely magnificent.

I did not know what this book would consist of when I started it. I just knew that it was a book my friend highly enjoyed.

This book will remain my favorite book for who knows how long. Absolute perfection. There’s not one thing in this book that I could honestly say that I didn’t enjoy. The story. The writing. The twists. The characters. Taylor Jenkins Reid. All perfection.

when i started the book i was a little skeptical, i didn't know if it was a story I was really interested in getting into, but i think it was a pleasant surprise. i felt like i could relate in some ways to evelyn but i also disapproved of many of her decisions. i think the characters in this book embrace the duality of people and the nuances of them and their relationships very well. it's not a book that made me feel satisfied or comfortable, but i think it's one of those books that leaves you t ...more

Wowza. Did not expect to be this entranced with the book! Well that was a whirlwind of emotions and I loved every second of it. The book shows the glamour of Hollywood while also showing how fame can effect a person. There’s moments of happiness and also moments of anger and betrayal, it was a perfect balance of emotions.
