Sadly, this book wasn’t my favorite. I went into it expecting so much more.
Let’s start with the positive. The characters were interesting. All of them were morally grey and unlikeable, and I enjoyed some of the character growth. The magic system was intriguing and the atmosphere was probably the biggest strength of the story. The Alexandrian society and the mysteries surrounding it were captivating and kept me invested in the story.

Who allowed every character to be THIS HOT??!! Like im rooting for all em and I just looveee how utterly mysterious and vague every spicy scene is, normally I like it written down pretty literally on this but damnnn it was so intruiging not to know and to fill it in yourself. Anyway a rlly great story with a major twist at the end making me hungry for the sequel. Es ist zauberhaft und verrückt, aber eben auf magische Weise. Und das Ende war irgendwie befriedigend unbefriedigend.
»Weil das Problem mit Wissen, Miss Rhodes, in seiner unersättlichen Gier besteht. Je mehr Wissen man anhäuft, desto weniger glaubt man zu wissen«
