Wow, I did it. Only took a few days because, well, this book was hard to put down. I stayed up way past my bedtime, trying to keep my eyes open, saying "just one more chapter" over and over again. A story I was definitely not expecting!
It's always a welcome treat to read a book with a new spin on a familiar fiction topic. So well written. Terrifying yet elegant, wrapped in believable characters to include the protagonist and antagonist.
The story unfolds with the assistance of flashbacks, told as a first person narrative in present time. The back and forth between now and then adds to the already tense drama. The author is incredible at describing the events in such detail that the suspens ...more
