So good. This is my favorite of the Red Night trilogy, with Cities being my least favorite, and Dead Roads being my second. It all comes together in Western Night, all of Burroughs's ideas and obsessions. Being his last long piece of fiction, readers can see how far he got intellectually and spiritually. His dream was to get to the Western Lands. You get to see in this book if he made it. I am slowly reading my way through B's entire oeuvre, and it was great to read this one.
