From the Bookshelf of La Crescent Public Library…

[close] Our library book club discussed The Measure this month and everyone really liked it. While some felt that the book wouldn't be for everyone, they all enjoyed the characters and writing style. They particularly appreciated the author's broad cast of characters and how they all webbed together toward the end.

We had a great discussion about each of the "duets" of characters, the concept behind the book, what it would mean if we knew where the boxes would come from, and the ethics around the technology and individual's rights with the information the string provided.

A very intriguing and thought provoking book.
