Priyanka Mattoo's memoir about growing up Kashmiri and being forced to move around repeatedly with her family for safety and opportunities was beautifully written. She blends the family experiences and growing pains that are relatable by many to the increasing anxiety and mistrust of others due to the ongoing wars in her home country and the religious dialogue surrounding her from both classmates and society that stewed a religious hatred.

A wonderful memoir about home and identity from a writer who's been forced to move around so much. Forced to flee with her family as war broke out in their ancestral and beloved Kashmir, they had planned to return one day, but it would no longer be an option.

Bird Milk and Mosquito Bones is a book about constant adaptation and how we find humor and heart along the way. It's a reminder that we're all human and how religious othering can cause generational trauma for families. It's full of truths
