From the Bookshelf of La Crescent Public Library…

[close] Our library does a "High School Reunion" book club in the summer as a fun YA for Grownups (and teens too!) idea. We meet up at a pub and grab food and discuss the book! Our community gets to vote on what books we discuss, and this title was the number 1 pick!

We spent a lot of time discussing the worldbuilding of the Death-Cast company and whether folks would want to know when they die or not and how that would affect society. Lots of questions about how a company like that operated and what was the effect on the staff that worked there at various levels?!

Everyone loved the relationship building in the book and how much Mateo and Rufus needed one another to both grow.

Everyone wanted to read the prequel and is eagerly waiting for the next book in the series too!
