Our book club LOVED The Island of Sea Women. We had so much to discuss and the book created a lot of research rabbit holes to explore. Readers learned a lot about the time period and the wars that occurred and how Jeju was impacted. And of course, the haenyeo were a totally new cultural aspect as well and we watched some news interviews with Jeju's present day divers.
