[close] An adorable graphic novel by Great British Bake Off's 2018 runner up Kim-Joy! Turtle Bread follows the journey of a young woman named Yan who struggles with social anxiety. She faces her fears and joins a baking club, making friends with the other bakers. Much like Kim-Joy herself, who on Bake Off was known for her adorable creations, the baking club gathers each week to make cute, experimental recipes that they all try together. As she returns to the baking club each time, she realizes she not only needs her friends help to come out of her shell, but they need her help too.

A beautiful story overall. In many ways, I could empathize with Yan and her struggle with anxiety. This book is perfect for graphic novel readers, Great British Bake Off fans, and anyone looking for a great read that's short & sweet.
