[close] Shibata is tired of being taken for granted and expected to do all the domestic labor tasks in her office. From getting the coffee, cleaning the breakroom, and sorting the mail, the men in her organization seem to think it's her job to do these tasks and never pitch in. So one day, Shibata tells a lie; she's pregnant. Suddenly, her coworkers start treating her differently, but even more unexpectedly Shibata starts treating herself differently too.

A unique, at times quirky, read that made me keep turning pages. I wanted to know how it would all end. It may be an unexpected conclusion for some, but it's a fascinating dive into humanity and its complexities. And of course it tackles the very relevant issue of who we expect to do domestic labor tasks, even when everyone in an organization participates in and benefits from them.
