[close] Our second pick for the Jury Duty book group was Yellow Bird by Sierra Crane Murdoch, a beautifully intelligent investigation following Lissa Yellow Bird as she delves into the mysterious disappearance of an oil worker on Tribal Land in North Dakota. We, as a group, found Lissa to be a very complex individual with a patchwork past. Her determination and dedication to solving this crime was endearing and at times frustrating. This book not only offered a well told narrative into the oil boom and its effect on the Tribal Lands and people, but also an in depth look into the history of indigenous peoples. We found the book meticulously researched and told with a good amount of care to the subject and people involved.
