A really well-written true crime book with a lot of complexities. I appreciated the author's note at the end delving into how she handled the writing process and fact-checking.

Lots of people to remember towards the end, but includes some summary as well as court cases wrap up. Lissa Yellow Bird is one of the most intriguing people I've ever read about.

Our second pick for the Jury Duty book group was Yellow Bird by Sierra Crane Murdoch, a beautifully intelligent investigation following Lissa Yellow Bird as she delves into the mysterious disappearance of an oil worker on Tribal Land in North Dakota. We, as a group, found Lissa to be a very complex individual with a patchwork past. Her determination and dedication to solving this crime was endearing and at times frustrating.
