My Sister, the Serial Killer was a fast-paced, quick, and entertaining read. At times, it was even a little humorous - there were some Alexander McCall Smith vibes of The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
What I most enjoyed was how the story unfolded. We open with a body and the sisters each play their role in its disposal, and then the story pans out into what their everyday lives are like. With almost a fable-like structure, this book flowed fast for a quick and engrossing read. The main focus is the sibling relationship, with elements of patriarchal society and abuse along the edges. It cumulates in the end with a moment that (I still feel) could be read 3 or 4 different ways; currently, they all co-exist in my mind.

My Sister, the Serial Killer was our library's February pick for book club. Everyone thought it was a very fast read, with some dark humor moments, but overall was left wanting more.
Our group wished the ending was more concrete, but we still had a full discussion around the characters, their motivation, and what role beauty plays in a person's life.
