What a fascinating little novella this is. I picked this one up to read out loud with my husband as we're both fans of zombies and it was short and seemed like a good escapist read.

I'm not sure what to think about the book And Then I Woke Up by Malcolm Devlin. It's not that I don't recommend it, or didn't like it, but it's unlike anything else I've ever read. The confusion and uncertainty of the plot truly reflects the state of mind of the characters as they navigate their changing world. The narrator is unreliable, and no one is sure of the truth.

It's a very timely story: it takes place during a different kind of pandemic, but in some ways still reflects current events.
