This book lived up to the hype.
Michelle Zauner's memoir, Crying in H Mart, kept popping up on so many book lists as a must read and a standout in its genre. As a memoir lover, I needed to read it for myself. I was not disappointed.

This was a bit of a thinker. After the passing of the author’s mom, the author took on learning to make her mom’s Korean foods.
I love to learn to cook and bake new things. I learned all of my beginner kitchen skills from my mom. So glad she implanted the desire to learn and the basics to get going. I too have gone beyond the training of my mom and love learning new skills in the kitchen. Wonder what we will make together this weekend!

From reading this memoir, what stood out to me was the flow of words, and the description of food associated with memory & motherly love. A complex portrait of a mother-daughter relationship.
