A bit intense, but definitely interesting.

I don't normally read much sci-fi, but this one is very character driven and those tend to hook me more than books where world-building is the focus. The Bone Clocks follows the character Holly Sykes from a teenager on through several decades. We learn early on that Holly can hear voices, which she calls the "radio people." Later in life, she uses her ability for premonitions to write bestselling books.

The Bone Clocks was our library book club's June read. We sought to venture outside our normal genres and this book definitely did that!

Our group described The Bone Clocks as "Men in Black meets Harry Potter" with "a little Jack the Ripper thrown in." Another member tried to sum up the plot with "lotta weird crap in this one."
