This was the first William Kent Krueger book I've read and I really enjoyed it! I will definitely be checking out more of the series.
Lightning Strike is a prequel to the Cork O'Connor series and gives us some backstory about Cork as a preteen boy, navigating some mature life circumstances while also figuring out what his biracial identity as part Irish, part Ojibwe means to himself and the world.

Lightning Strike was the library's April book club pick and it was definitely the majority favorite of books read so far this year. There was a handful of members whose introduction to the Cork O'Connor series was this prequel, and the rest were all fans of the series.
