A fascinating read about rituals surrounding death. The main character, Dawn, is a death doula, which means she helps those that are dying and their families carry out any last wishes. She assists with everything from writing out wills to cleaning out old clutter to purchasing all the ice cream they want. But Dawn's focus on her clients has meant she's occasionally neglected the living, mostly her family.

I did not expect to find myself getting so emotional at the end of this book when I first started reading this novel. The Book Of Two Ways faces the struggle of choosing between two loves. There's the one you know, the comfortable and familiar, and the one you once knew and loved so fiercely but gave up, the one with questions and what ifs. Picoult gives us a beautifully written novel full of love, friendship, and family. Because this book centers around Egyptian culture, it is a little textbook
