I read this for a book club, and it's the first Louise Penny book I've tried. I loved her writing, it is very beautiful. I found the book to be extremely well researched, interesting, and well characterized. However, for me, and for many others in the book club who were reading along with me, we all found it to be slow. For fans of high stakes mysteries or thrillers, they may struggle to stick with The Beautiful Mystery. It sort of spirals around the whodunnit and breaks off into character drive

Our February book club pick was The Beautiful Mystery by Louise Penny. The book is #8 in the Armande Gamache series about a Chief Inspector and his progeny, Jean-Guy Beauvoir.
The book club was divided with a few of us having never read Louise Penny before and a little over half having read much of the Gamache series.
