Had me in the first 1/4 can’t lie. But then it was insta love, a water gun game that spanned over half the book, and the mc crying because she got called pretty. Idk the setting was nice, but I found the dialogue cringe at times. Loved the Taylor Swift references though!
this is very uncharacteristic for me to give such a low rating to a cheesy beachy teen romance. maybe it was the reader of the audiobook version that I had but the dialogue was cringy at times. LISTEN, I know that's kinda the whole point of these books - I wasn't expecting a literary masterpiece out of this but some parts I literally had to PAUSE, sigh, and continue. I loved this book! The setting was amazing on Martha’s Vineyard and the game of assassin was so fun! I loved reading Mer falling for Wit and them becoming friends to more than friends. I read part of this on the beach and i binged it! The book was so easy to fall into and I loved the writing! And also the little Taylor Swift reference I loved!
