I admire so much about Evelyn. But I truly was mesmerized about how well she knew herself. She knew she could handle everything thrown at her. She fought for r own self. She paved her own way. She did everything by herself, and had the support of the people she loved the most. She loved people too much, loved her bestest friends too much and that is the kindest thing about her. This is the sorta book that the second I finished it all I could think of was how much I wish I could experience it for the first time again. It’s definitely worth all the hype it receives and is one of my favourite books of the year

This book made me cry, it is so well written. You immediately fall in love with Evelyn's story, she's such a likeable character but throughout the story you realize that even with all her fame, she's human after all. Yes, she got married seven times, but she couldn't have much time together with her one true love. Evelyn is human, we all make mistakes. A booktok book that deserves every ounce of hype it gets! So beautifully written with so many amazing twists and turns. The love story is so wonderful and heart wrenching at the same time. I am so curious to hear more from TJR where she drew inspiration from and how “historical” this fiction is. I loved the changes in perspective from Evelyn’s autobiography to Monica’s interview process. I cried like 3 times throughout reading it. this book was SO good. fully lived up to my expectations. i was skeptical at first as to whether i’d like it but i’m so glad i read this book. this book holds such a powerful message and i adore the characters. this book is deep in its own way while also highlighting fashion, movies and the ‘celebrity lifestyle’.
