This book was chosen for the 2016 reading challenge group alternate group read. March - Classic.

Very good book. Nice to finally read one of the classics that I have heard about for a long time but never read before. Enjoyable to read Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy's love story.
Now, want to watch a Pride and Prejudice movie. Will probably watch the one starring Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfayden. Did any of you guys watch a Pride and Prejudice movie or movies? If so, what did you think ...more

Well, it certainly wasn't the worst book I've ever read, but I really hope not to slog through anything quite this trivial anytime soon. The first line is wonderful and so iconic (“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”) and yet I found myself looking forward to the last line. It took me 3 times to finish it, and even then I took my time. But I'm so glad I was able to close the year out with this book. All I can say is: I now understand why everyone is so in love with Mr. Darcy, I am too. I wouldn't mind tripping and falling over a man like him as a husband ;)
