I was disappointed with this book. I've heard many people rave about the classics and since my literature class last semester, I wanted to dive into a bit more classics to learn what made the foundation of what is considered "good" literature.

It’s a classic for a reason. I listened to the audible version read by Thandie Newton (who is amazing as a narrator). You sort of know the story but the character of Jane Eyre is rich, vibrant and unique. While shouting at her to not be taken in by St John’s arguments you also know she has not just the good sense and judgement but also the passion and sense of self not to be won over. “Reader, I married him.” is justifiably well known but, as a cliche, does not express the loaded meaning the aut
