One of those books that has been on my TBR forever and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it! Axel’s a bit of a scientist like his uncle Otto and in love with Graüben. When his uncle, an incredibly intelligent man, discovers a coded message in an old book, it leads them on a quest down to the centre of the earth.

Reasons I Recommend:

1) Fun, easy read with lots of wit and humour

2) An adventure with geology and an environment that’s almost a new world and

3) Axel’s tale makes you believe it t ...more

I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of action and excitement. I had watched the older movie when I was a kid, and I have to say I enjoyed the book much more than the movie.
