What Members Thought
The language in The Great Gatsby is often exquisite as is some of the imagery but for such a short book it still takes an awfully long time for something to happen. It has a strange dream like quality to it and I felt the need to read 'study notes' on it afterwards to try and pin down characterisations. Personally I did like Jay-he seemed a rather bewildered individual who had missed out on his chance of true happiness and the oblique references to his 'dodgy dealings' sort of passed me by. Nick
