Okay, so I'll definitely going to read the rest of the trilogy soon. This was a great reading experience. The narrator of the audio book had just the right kind of semi-desperate, semi-apathetic voice and narrating style for this book.

Astonishing. I finally understand why Atwood is such a big deal.I was supposed to read this over the whole month of August for a read-along, bit there was no way. Now I'm looking for a bookstore in Sydney so I can find the next in the series.

Atwood is a genius. Often there's more creativity in one sentence in this book than other entire books. It took a bit for me to get into its vibe, but by the half way point, I kept thinking about how much I want to read the next two in the series. I'm off to reserve them at the library immediately. A good romp in the speculative fiction genre.

2.5 stars. The writing is superb. The descriptions of what normal is in this new society are a little hard to take. I might continue the series but will need several books in between. Like several.
