An unusual format short stories and little evening scenes concerning the Blythe family. The stories themselves were reused having previously been stand alones hence some textual anomalies ( a story set before world war one has characters refer to the execution of Edith Cavell). The stories themselves vary but the overall tone is bitterness showing Montgomerys fall out with the world.
