Reading a good book for the second, third, or even fiftieth time is always a pleasure. When it is so long since the last time that you read it that you have forgotten much of what happens I think the delight is doubled. Probably my least favorite of the Anne books. Largely as Anne is a minor character ( it feels like the writer wrote it as a stand alone but when it got turned down rewrote it to add Anne) essentially a few kids doing various silly things to pad out the novel while a very tawdry love story plays out.
