Despite what others have said, I enjoyed this novel!
Was it a tad bit tedious at times? Yes, but I still loved reading about our Anne. I do wish that there was more of Gilbert in the novel, however the rest of the series is all about their lives together, so I don't begrudge Anne's adventures in this one at all.
I have no idea why some people said that she 'meddled' in other people's affairs. It was simply her compassionate and humorous heart that compelled her to help and advise her 'kindred spi

Dear me, I'm awful fond of this precious books. It almost feels like Anne the first again. It holds a host of characters (and I thought the other Anne books had too many characters; this defies them all) and I found myself liking all of them in spite of their 'unpromising shells', each reminding me of someone I once knew.

I had no idea (until today) that this was written after the next books. I enjoyed the characters. I liked the letters Anne wrote back home. It was a good segue between her college life and her wedding. It’s not my favorite book ever, but it was a good listen and I’ll revisit it.

There is nothing like reading a book that you know and love to help bring you out of a case of the blues. It makes you feel safe and cosy, a bit like sitting in front of a log fire on a cold winter's day, and your troubles seem to melt away, at least for a little while. The Anne of Green Gables series is perfect for comfort reading, set in a time when life seemed much simpler. L M Mont ...more

I didn't enjoy the book as much as others in the series as it was written as letters from Anne. But still a lot of beautiful thoughts from Anne about others and life. ...more
