Based on many reviews, I expected this book to lack in character development, wit, fabulous descriptions, joy, innocence and humour when compared to Anne the First;) but I couldn't have been more wrong. It certainly is different, how could it not be when Anne is 18 now, but as full of dreams and aspirations as ever, yet it adds a certain degree of depth to the overall story. Oh! I have no words for how delightful this novel was!
I adore Anne and it was simply beautiful to continue to see her grow up. Our little Anne is not so little anymore, however, nothing has dampened her kind spirit, brilliant imagination and zest for life.
I loved all the kindred spirits Anne met and it was lovely to see familiar and beloved characters.

Another fantastic book by L.M. Montgomery. My experience of this book as an older reader was quite different compared to when I first read it as a child - which is only to be expected as I am not the same as I was all those years ago! When I was younger all that Anne undergoes in the book still lay ahead of me and like her I was full of dreams of where life would take me.
