I love the setting of Avonlea, which will keep me coming back to the series for years. I dropped a star because of the introduction of Davy. It wasn’t simply that I found the character frustrating, I believe he was meant to try my patience as a reader, but the way he spoke did not translate to a normal naughty child. The same for Paul. The boy children are artificial because no one talks like that, and it’s jarring.
