I was so thrilled to step back into Anne's delightful world. I fell in love with Avonlea all over again, and adored catching up with some of my favourite characters.
Even though Anne is growing up, she'll always have the same child-like spirit with a penchant for getting into trouble. She is one of the most delightful characters I have ever read.

Oh my, I think these books, or rather this kind of authors, do make us fall in love with words, with the wonderful marriage of poetry and prose, and see how much beautiful prose gets when poetry has a fair share in the former's 'bringing up'. There must have been many times during the book when I longed for Anne's neverending, one-page-long-oratories, but certainly Davy's and Paul's moments are pure joy and kept me satifiedp. 2022: My comfort food for 2022 also is to read the books of LM Montgomery throughout the year.
2018: The Anne series is going to be my comfort food for 2018. Right after I read my day's chapter in the Bible I read some of Anne and then switch off the light to enjoy peaceful sleep.
There is a new Anne series on Netflix (Anne with an e) which I enjoyed and hope they produce more. Not sticking rigidly to the stories but still a lot of the story is there.

Another wonderful book by L M Montgomery, as full of joy and delight as Anne of Green Gables. A lovely mix of familiar, well-loved characters and new, interesting ones. Davy is such an entertaining little boy and he reminds me of some boys that I have taught over the years - always up to mischief but so lovable and with the gorgeous grins!

This one is lovely. Anne engaging in various escapades. But as she is slightly older they are of a different sort. The calm pace of this book is amazing. The only porblem is I can't stand Davey. Anne may have caused chaos but her heart was in the right place davey jsut likes cuasing harm. It's awful how everyone prefers him to Dora.
