What Members Thought

Words cannot truly express how horrified I have been while reading the ten stories in this book of wrongfully accused and convicted persons. It has made me question not only our justice system and the methods it uses to not only convict individuals, but keep them in prison long after their innocence has been proven beyond and reasonable doubt. I only hope more people read this book and it helps to bring about change in our very broken system.

There isn't a book by John Grisham I won't read. And I love to see this side of him - nonfiction, analyzing real cases. This is an extremely eye opening book. It's shocking and even terrifying the mistakes and corruption that happened to not only put but keep innocent people in jail. This is a book I'd recommend everyone read. There's alot to learn about aspects of the criminal justice system that are broken.

This book left me totally disgusted with our legal system. It also ensured that I can never serve on a jury where the death sentence is an option. I will NEVER be able to vote for death unless I actually witnessed the person commit the crime (and then I couldn't be a member of the jury). How these people were unjustly and, often, knowingly wrongfully convicted infuriates me. My trust in our legal system is completely shattered....... Well written and very upsetting.
