I loved this book! One of the best books I've read so far this year. Although it has a supernatural / horror element, the real story was about the harshness of an unforgiving terrain and the complexities of the people struggling to live in that wilderness. To me, this was a strange amalgam fiction genres, but surprisingly it worked for me. This is a mash-up of Historical Fiction, Horror, and Western genres. It's also a story about women. Women finding their own strength, and the strength of bonding together.

Wow! This genre bending tale really packs a punch. It is fiction as social commentary but still highly entertaining and always unexpected.
