This was a great book. At first, I thought it was going to start slow and there were a lot of characters to keep track of. Once it got going, it drew me in and held me captive until the end. It is a historical mystery with a very interesting storyline and a great cast of characters many of whom I really liked. A most enjoyable mystery. Set in the England of Henry II, the story is about a Mistress of Death, a doctor who listens to dead bodies to find out how they died. She is sent to England to solve the murders of children in Cambridge. The story moves along so very nicely and involves you in the plot and characters immediately. Loved the setting, the characters were very interesting and the story was excellent; a great mystery that contained humour and horror.. Excellent
