this was my first read by this author since it is her debut novel. it is considered to be historical fiction and about three different women, all related though several generations and timeframes apart. each of them are going through struggles and challenges (being accused of witchcraft, inequality of rights between men and women, abusive relationships, etc.). i liked each of the main characters and how they were portrayed. all of them experienced growth in one way or another and were able to fi

I totally get those people saying this is a book about women being mistreated by men, but there’s so much more to it than just that. The interplay between the three Weyward women separated by centuries was marvelous and very seamlessly done. I also enjoyed their unique relationship with nature and insects. It was also cool finding out the little mysteries, like how the Weyward line continues after Violet’s series of unfortunate events and how Kate got the bee brooch. Yes, this book is about wome
