4-4.5. Hope this gets turned into a series or movie!
this is my first read by this author because i held off for a while since this book has received A LOT of hype so i had my reservations of whether or not it would be good. ironically two of my book clubs have chosen it this month so i am glad put it off earlier and i finally read it now and i will say it was worth reading. there are definitely a lot of twists in this psychological thriller. the whole book is a cat and mouse type of story with a lot of people conning each other and every characte

This was a good, fast-paced mystery. I thought halfway through it was obvious who "Mr. Smith" was, and I was disappointed it was so easy to figure out.....but I was wrong! I liked the twists and the ending was satisfying.

Reese Whiterspoon’s first selection for 2024 for her book club and she starts the year with an exciting thriller. First Lie Wins will keep the reader engaged and ‘thrilled’ by the many twisted and turns. A great pick by Witherspoon!
They seem like such a normal couple, in love and moving in, until the lies start to be revealed. A story that grabs you but not as mystery/ thriller oriented as I thought, more like action/adventure.
