What Members Thought

'As I sleep, my mind will erase everything I did today. I will wake up tomorrow as I did this morning. Thinking I'm still a child. Thinking I have a whole lifetime of choice ahead of me ...'
Memories define us. So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep? Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight. And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story. Welcome to Christine's life every day. Christine wakes up and does not know ...more

Very interesting story. The medical condition of the main character (total memory loss from day to day where the person has to recreate his/her history each day) is fascinating but mind-boggling. It's hard to imagine living without memories, waking up anew to a totally new life every few hours. There is no basis to build a lifetime of memories because none of them ever remain for long enough to do so. The patient would be totally dependent upon his/her caregiver, both for daily care as well as f

I waffled between 2 and 3 stars for this book. It was okay, but mainly because I can tolerate more flaws in audiobooks where I would quickly lose patience reading it. It's an okay story. The premise is intriguing and it started out very well. The author sets up the story of a woman who doesn't know who she is, but apparently she has been keeping a journal. She is seeing a doctor who calls her on a cellphone that he gave her and tells her where she keeps the j ...more

Turned out that this book was better than I was expecting, putting aside my earlier snarky comment about the resemblance to "50 First Dates" without the charm of Drew Barrymore.
It was very thought provoking, trying to imagine how the main character, Christine, felt each morning, not knowing who she was. I don't feel like we knew her very well, but then again, that was the point-- she couldn't know herself. She woke up each morning as a blank slate. As the book went along, her memories began surf ...more

The story of a woman with amnesia who wakes up every morning with no memory of the day or years before. She begins to keep a journal to help her memory but soon learns that she cannot trust her husband. I waivered between 3 and 4 stars for this one but since I read it in about a day and a half I thought it deserved 4 stars. It was suspensful and very creepy.

Whew what a ride!!!! What a scary thought to know that every time you went to sleep, that you would awake not knowing who you are. Putting trust in the people around you to tell you truths and not lies.
