Third read:
I do love Dickens but I think the timing was off for me with this reread. I won’t downgrade it bc it was my mood and possibly the Tim Curry audio narration from Audible that seemed to emphasize the darkness. I was looking for more light. Listened with my husband at dinner time for a couple of weeks. Probably at best a three star read this time around.

I just love Dickens, and although the first half dragged a little, the pacing really picked up in the second half and I rea ...more

It's a nice little story, though for my taste too clearly Victorian: too much morality. It's quite the right thing to read to put me in the Christmas spirit though.

What a great holiday classic. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Jim Dale which made it even more delicious!
