Shelves: favourites-fiction, my-top-5-books-read-in-2013

Been hesitating to read this one despite all the great reviews that I had read of it , for 3 reasons:

(1)Not at all interested in Kennedy/Lee Harvey Oswald conspiracy theories.
(2)Whole story sounded completely unbelievable and silly.
(3)It looked like one heck of a size of book - 740 pages.

In the end, I was wrong on all 3 counts - there wasn't really anything about conspiracy theories just plain old history as it was of the late 50s and early 60s (and very interesting and informative that was too) ...more

Very creative travel back in time to try to stop the Kennedy assassination. Intriguing story that keeps your attention throughout. What would have happened if? I wasn't sure I would like this one, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Stephen King is a master. ...more

Ok I should have written a review but now having watched the show I realize how even mor awesome the book is... sad on my part but so true. Admittedly I am already a Stephen King fan and for some reason this puts people off reading any of his books..weird??
However for those people you would never know he wrote this book.. but I would.
The relationships are intricate and delicate.
The timeline is fragile
The outcomes are frightening
I loved it
One of the best books I have read more than twice

Some slow parts in the middle that bogged me down, but overall I enjoyed this book. It's been a long time since I read a Steven King novel...I don't enjoy the horror genre as much now as I used to when I was younger. But this book took me by surprise--because, above everything else, this was a love story. Totally not what you (or at least I) would expect from Steven King. I would definitely recommend it. ...more
