Wow, I thought this was such a great book. Once I got started it was hard to put down. I love the characters and plot of the story. I think that Violet is such a great main character. She starts out as this girl who is forced into doing something she does not want to do, but in the end wants to prove herself that she can do it. Not only to prove the other cadets and her mother, but herself. She wants to be able to become a dragon rider. I also love the slow burn romance between her and Xaden. It ...more

2 very spicy chapters included in what I would describe as a mashup of how to train your dragon and divergent, with some Enders game thrown in. Very much fits the YA dystopian genre except for the 2 chapters. Not sure I’d let my 15 YO read without a disclaimer but to adults that enjoy YA, this is for you! Plus dragons. 🐉
