This book relates seven primary examples of where scientific discoveries were either deliberately or accidentally misinterpreted, leading to disasters. The title is a bit of a misnomer. It is not so much “science gone wrong” as people misunderstanding science or using it in inappropriate ways.

The author combines scientific information and history, providing examples of where science was used as a justification for doing some horrible things (e.g., eugenics, used in Hitler’s genocidal policies) ...more

I listened to this on audio, and it was eye opening; in some cases, it was pretty scary. I had read other books about lobotomy, so most of that chapter I had read before. However, I learned some new things, including to be skeptical at times and do your research!

This book has some very good points, but was one I needed to take a break and read something fun and then go back. Some of the things I have learned about from other books so it was a little boring to read it again in this book.
