I have to admit that I was not thrilled that Lily is dead early in the story. Why does the girl have to die? Not a fan. I overlooked that and kept reading because I know Jodi Picoult would not let me down. And I had a feeling that Jennifer Finley Boylan would not lead her readers down a path without a having a plan. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I really loved Asher’s and Lily’s respective relationships with their mothers. TW: I also really liked how the authors illustrated different circumstances of DA, between Ava and Olivia, showing the reader how difficult it can be to leave those circumstances. But I think the good stops there.

TW: the analogies between the multiple instances of DA were moving and well-weaved into the story, but far too prescriptive and repetitive so as to hammer the point, taking the impact out of it. The bee / ho ...more
