this was a book club pick and not my first read by this author, though it was co-written with another author i am not familiar with. sometimes that causes issues, but i felt that this book was well-written and not totally obvious that it was written by more than one person. told from two different perspectives, the mother (in the present) and girlfriend (in the past) of one of the main characters, whose future was threatened by a horrible accident. a lot of my thoughts are kind of spoilery, so i

I know many people have mixed feelings about Jodi Picoult. Maybe it's envy, maybe it's because she gets published so often, maybe it's because she takes current hot topic matters and brings them to the forefront. For me, she's just a writer who rarely disappoints. She's not afraid to step out and sometimes take the less popular point of view on controversial topics. This book to me was another winner. Did I figure some things out before they were revealed? Yes. Would I have liked for the ending
