A sweet read but it didn't have the humor I was hoping to find. This is my second book by these ladies, and while I will continue to read them, this one fell a bit my pre-set expectations.
When I get the reference, "Like Ground Hog Day" in the day repeating itself, I expect to be full on laughing at least twice. I think I lightly chuckled once. This was a perfectly timed book for me. After having so much of life disrupted by the pandemic, I chose this because it had a lighter, rom-com look to it. I wasn't expecting to relate so much to the re-examination of traditions (for the sake of tradition) and pursuing what's truly important. Fun read! ...more

It can’t be a coincidence that the moment I stopped being passive and followed my instincts, everything seemed to fall into place. I know what makes me happy—trusting myself.

i have previously read another book by these authors and liked it a lot. after a few people told me to check this one out, too, i was excited to see it was on sale and bought it immediately. i am glad i did and didnt put off reading it because i definitely enjoyed it. the story definitely had a Groundhog Day feel to it, but It can’t be a coincidence that the moment I stopped being passive and followed my instincts, everything seemed to fall into place. I know what makes me happy—trusting myself.

i have previously read another book by these authors and liked it a lot. after a few people told me to check this one out, too, i was excited to see it was on sale and bought it immediately. i am glad i did and didnt put off reading it because i definitely enjoyed it. the story definitely had a Groundhog Day feel to it, but also plenty of holiday cheer and a little bit of romance, so it was a perfect holiday read.

the main character realizes how unhappy she is with certain parts of her life, but when she is at the cabin her loved ones spend Christmas at every year, everything just feels right and magical. so of course she is miserable when it is time to leave and asks the universe to show her what will make her happy. and the next thing she knows, she is reliving the trip all over again. the rest of my thoughts are a little spoilery so i will cut here before i continue...

it was a cute and enjoyable story, perfect to get you in the holiday mood. i read through it pretty quickly (and probably would have even faster had i not had a busy weekend) so i would definitely recommend it. ...more

This was a book of the month pick for December 2020 and I only just finished it today. It’s a story about a young woman who repeats the holidays in a magical time traveling loop reminiscent of Groundhog Day. Maisie makes a wish for happiness to the universe and she’s set on a quest to fix things for herself which means quitting her job, saving the cabin, and most importantly telling Andrew that she’s always loved him, and not his brother.

This was a great book to read between Christmas and New Year's. It was a very quick read. The only reason it took me as long as it did was because I was little busy reading another book too. I don't usually read two books at the same time but I did this last week. LOL!! ...more
