This book is one heck of a great read. The story, told in multiple POV, flows with wonderful characters who aren't exactly perfect. This family drama clearly shows how holding a grudge or guilt can make you do unthinkable things. The Revenge Paradox by Regina Buttner is a compelling, yet disturbing account of the secrets we keep and the lies we tell the closest ones and ourselves. The story opens at twenty-five-year-old Rudy is being evicted from his house by his step-parents. Set on revenge and in need of money, he steals his step-father’s gun and sells it on the open market. Strap in for this one! Regina Buttner’s The Revenge Paradox introduces a cast of characters laden with hidden secrets, desires, and emotions that threaten to boil over and upend every relationship in the tale. In a Gillian Flynn-like build-up to the book’s startling conclusion, Buttner’s pacing keeps readers rapt. Wow!

Once again, Ms. Buttner has turned out another dark and turbulent page-turner! This domestic suspense novel is filled with memorable characters and fast-paced action that drew me in from the start and didn’t let go. Be prepared for characters you either love or hate – and even a bit of both. A grippingly suspenseful novel!
