I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you!

This book started off sorta shaky. I didn't think I would like it.
THEN, it started getting very interesting.
Every time I would sit to read, I had to know what would happen next.
One chapter turned into another chapter. I was loving it.
(Yes! This book will be a favorite of the year!)

I read this for my real life book club for our first meeting back since the start of covid. It was a pacy read, raising lots of issues that made for a good meeting. I thoroughly enjoyed it up to the end of the incident. Although there were some issues about setting that the author got wrong (coming from Yorkshire these were glaringly obvious) this first two thirds had real pace and drive. I particularly enjoy Marrs' books where he explores the impact to society of evolving technology. This was one of my favorites. It was fascinating to see the impacts of hackable, self-driving cars and how they can be used to someone's advantage if they're setting out to make a point. The whole process of how they interacted, what the result was, and why an unknown individual was doing this. Equally interesting? The way the company/government reacted. ...more
